Health Kick

Spring time means spring cleaning, & not just our closets but also our diets & habits to prepare ourselves for the summer. I just finished a week long detox/cleanse by Natural Factors called RevitalX & Detoxitech 7 Day Nutritional Cleansing Program.

I have never done a cleanse before and I’ve always been curious and wanting to do one but I didn’t know how I’d be able to not eat food (I love food way too much). Well this one was surprisingly easy, you’re allowed to eat during the cleanse, mainly raw/whole foods such as organic veggies, nuts, chicken, salmon, etc. The first 3 days were hell, I got sick, I was nauseous, dizzy, headaches. But afterward it was kinda  a breeze, I didn’t really crave any food as much as I thought, I wasn’t starving like I thought I’d be. Towards the end I started really missing carbs & sweets but stuck it out. I weighed myself today and I lost a total of 6.2 lbs, great for kick-start. Next is trying to maintain the healthy eating, I’m going to be sticking to Eating Clean and packing my lunches everyday for work.

Today my menu consists of:

Whole-wheat toast with 1% cottage cheese for breakfast. Apple, flaxseed, oatmeal & raisin muffin for mid-morning snack. Prawns with homemade cocktail sauce and veggies & homemade tofu-curry dip for lunch. A pear for mid-afternoon snack & a whole bunch of water.

Next is getting back to the gym on my lunchbreaks & trying to get back into boxing.

What is your best way to get back to health and/or to prepare for the summer?

Meat Hand!

This is too amazing to not repost. Not Martha made a meat loaf that creepily resembles a charred, burnt zombie hand.

My favourite part is the wrist bone poking out at the bottom, how clever! I’m pretty sure no matter how delicious this tastes, it would still be terrifying and weird to eat.

Check out how she made it here.
